The story behind the birth of AIR FOAMPOSITE

The "AIR FOAMPOSITE ONE" was released in 1997 as a model for Anfernee "Penny" Hardaway, featuring Penny's signature logo, "1 Cent", on the heel.

Development of this model began around April 1993, but it took several years for the model to be released due to the lack of technology at the time. At the time, "PENNY" had a deep relationship with the development team, advising them as a player, so the model was released as a "PENNY" model separate from the signature model.

The design was done by ERIC AVAR, who also designed the "KOBE" series, and is said to have been inspired by sunglasses cases and beetle insects.

This is one of NIKE's most representative basketball shoes, which is now popular in the street scene and has also become popular through collaborations with Supreme and COMME des GARCONS.
