Sneaker Origin Story

In 1985, the DUNK was born from the Nike College Program, backed by the popularity of the NCAA (National Collegiate Association) basketball league.

Until then, basketball shoes were dominated by white, but Nike advocated the value of team models.

White and Blue: University of Kentucky

White x Red: St. John's University, North Carolina State University, University of Maryland, College Park, University of Georgia

White and Orange: Syracuse University

White and Navy: University of Arizona, Villanova University

Gray x Red: University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Ohio University

Navy x Yellow: University of Michigan

Black and Yellow: University of Iowa, Purdue University

When the shoes were first released, the demand was expected to be from basketball players due to the nature of the product being basketball shoes.

However, after its revival in 1998-1999, it became popular for everyday use around town, and in 2002 it was reborn as the skateboard model "DUN SB."

Since then, a wide variety of variations have been sold, and collaboration models continue to be sold.
